Explore World Heritage Caves on an exclusive tailored tour, lush farming country, terra rossa soil creating bold cabernets, stunning volcanic craters, jaw-dropping sinkholes and unique freshwater ecosystems feeding an abundant coastline. 


Indulge your senses when you taste the produce of the region as you meet the makers - wine, gin and chefs, dine in the regions best restaurants and visit outstanding wineries. 


Each day you will enjoy a short walk. FRIDAY DAY 1 - ARRIVAL TIME OF CHOICE - ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED

If you are flying into Mt Gambier on an evening flight, we will pick you up from the airport and transport you to your accommodation.

Dinner will be at your leisure this evening at your accommodation.


SATURDAY DAY 2  - WORLD HERITAGE FOSSIL CAVE SITE NARACOORTE, COONAWARRA

Your guide will meet you and fellow travellers at your accommodation after breakfast at 9am prior to your transfer to the World Heritage Naracoorte Caves National Park. This private transfer will take around an hour and will be a great opportunity to relax and soak in the country side as we leave Mount Gambier driving north through the Coonawarra and Wrattonbully wine regions to the ancient coastal ridge-line in which the Naracoorte Caves reside.

 

You will enjoy a tailored private tour into SA's only World Heritage listed site. This adventure takes you back in time, viewing a large fossil deposit containing the remains of extinct Australian mega fauna. 


After the tour you shall enjoy morning tea at the Caves Café prior to driving through the Wrattonbully wine region on our way to the Coonawarra. First stop is the beautifully revived historic shearing shed and boutique winery Bellwether. Here you will meet the wine maker and owner of Bellwether Wines, sampling wines made from grapes grown in Wrattonbully and Coonawarra. 


Lunch in the heart of Coonawarra for a tantalising dining experience at Ottelia. This restaurant and cellar door provides the best lunch in the Coonawarra, you will experience an amazing multi-course chefs lunch.


After lunch, time to stretch your legs walking alongside the vines to the iconic Coonawarra railway siding for a photo prior to making our way back to Mount Gambier with the opportunity to kick back and rest for a couple of hours or head to the local boutique brewery for a tasting.


This evening you will enjoy a sensational dining experience at Elementary by Soul. Food will be paired with beverages, non-alcoholic available, you will meet and watch this regional chef know for his new-age dining approach prepare you soul food.

SUNDAY DAY 3 -  VOLCANOS, PICCANINNIE PONDS, KILSBY SINKHOLE 

Today will comprise a walk up one of Australia's youngest volcano's, and a visit to the coast via world renown cave diving site Piccaninnie Ponds Conservation Park as we continue to explore this amazing limestone coast country. 


After breakfast we climb the cone of a key feature in this volcanic landscape, Parreen (Mt Schank) you will have 360 degree views looking to Mount Gamier and the coast, this really is one of the greatest short walks in S.A. 


Then onto the coast and to Piccaninnie Ponds Conservation Park, home to unique fresh water ecosystems and where the crystal clear groundwater runs into the ocean. Bush tucker abounds and you will experience a special coastal inspired lunch today, featuring crayfish when in season.


On our way back to Mount Gambier you will visit Kilsby Sinkhole and enjoy a tour down to the waters edge of this awesome feature, followed by meet the maker tasting sinkhole gin crafted with the local water and some locally grown botanicals. 


During the warmer weather a dip in Little Blue is a highlight, so pack your bathers.


Finishing late afternoon your adventure and tasting experience has come to an end. Transport back to airport or car.
